Enjoy stylish, luxurious accommodation in this beautiful property set in the heart of the Devonshire countryside, yet just a stone’s throw from the coast. This large and beautiful Victorian vicarage has recently undergone a total and thorough refurbishment and is a fabulous venue for holding a wedding celebration, corporate event or for a celebratory family gathering.
Inside
- Style: Contemporary chic. Vibrant colours, luxurious linens and a plethora of mod cons combine in this spacious property.
- Bedrooms: First floor: There are seven bedrooms on the first floor: 4 en suite doubles, a four-bedded room ensuite; 2 en suite bunk rooms ensuite, a double sofa bed in one of the upstairs lounges. On the second floor there is an en suite double bedroom with views down towards Starehole Bay and the sea beyond. The morning room has a double sofa bed.
- For relaxation: Choose from the morning room – the perfect haven on winters days with two open fires or the drawing room, also with open fire, to relax in indoors. Alternatively, take in the sea views from the balcony of the first floor lounge.
- For recreation: A games room with open fire, surround sound, table football, American pool, air hockey, Sony PlayStation 2 and 50” plasma screen.
- Practicalities: On the first floor there is a laundry room with washing machine and separate tumble dryer. The ground floor wet room which leads into the garden provides the perfect haven for well behaved dogs
Outside
The lush lawn to the rear of the house is great for ball games whilst the generous sun terrace is the perfect spot for that well earned sundowner and some al fresco dining. Wonderful views over the countryside with the sea on the horizon.
To the side of the property is the old stables and a small cottage, these have separate access and approaches, ensuring guests' privacy is respected at all times. In addition the east wing of the property has been converted into an apartment which has its own external entrance and again does not impinge on guests’ privacy; however guests are requested to be considerate of the neighbours when partying late at night and into the early hours.
Food and Wine
- DIY: Kitchen with surround sound, 4 oven Aga, hob, oven, microwave, breakfast bar and an interesting glass ‘window’ in the floor looking into an illuminated Victorian well underneath. Dining room leading off the kitchen with surround sound, dining table to seat 24.
- In-house cuisine: A full catering service is available on request for freshly prepared dishes in ovenware which can be heated by guests in the Aga & then served directly at the table. Alternatively sit back and marvel at the creations of your own private local chef from the nearby Oyster Shack in Salcombe, bespoke menus can be aranged with freshly caught seafood high on the agenda.

Out and About
The beautiful county of Devon really does have so much to offer. The safe and sandy beaches of Hope Cove, Thurlstone and Bantham are a short drive away with access to some of the most stunning coastal walks in the South Hams, don your lifejacket and enjoy a day on the water at nearby Salcombe, a sailors paradise. Golf, horseriding and even white water rafting can be found not far from The Vickers or if all that sounds like just to much fun, pull up a sunlounger and relax on the private terrace with heavenly vistas.
